We’re excited to welcome two new members to the CleanTEC team: Kim, our new Head of Southern Operations, and Mark, our new Head of Northern Operations. Both Kim and Mark bring a wealth of experience, passion, and energy to their roles and are already making a big impact in the way we deliver high-quality service, while staying true to our values. We sat down with them to learn more about their career journeys, what drew them to CleanTEC, and what they’re looking forward to most in their new roles.
Meet Mark -Head of Northern Operations
Mark’s journey in the cleaning sector begn with a 2-hour night shift while working full-time elsewhere. It didn’t take long for his dedication to shine through; within four weeks, he became supervisor, and three months after that, a site manager.
From there, Mark’s career took him through a series of roles:
Cleaning Operative → Site Supervisor → Site Manager → Cluster Manager → Contracts Manager → Industrial Supervisor → Key Accounts Manager → Regional Manager → Senior Regional Manager → Head of Northern Operations
Mark’s experience spans daily office cleaning, medical cleaning (NHS), industrial deep cleans, foundries cleaning, aerospace (FOD), leisure, and education settings. He also became a certified BICSc assessor and completed extensive training.
“I didn’t have a clear direction when I started, but I put 100% into every job. Falling into the cleaning industry by accident turned into a 20-year career that I now love.”

Having worked for both large corporate, and mid-sized companies, Mark says CleanTEC is different:

He is particlarly excited about the company’s growth potential and looks forward to expanding his knowledge of the financial side of operations to become even more well-rounded in his leadership.
Meet Kim - Head of Southern Operations
Kim’s career began as one of Wetherspoon’s youngest licensees, but she stepped into the cleaning industry by helping with carpet cleans and strip-and-seals on weekends. Her leadership skills stood out early, and she was encouraged to step into an Area Manager role.
Over the next 20+ years, Kim held senior positions across the sector:
Area Manager → Regional Manager → Operations Director → Acquisitions Director → Relationship & Retention Director → Now Head of Southern Operations
She brings a deep understanding of both operations and people management, and her values align perfectly with ours.
“The moment I walked in for my interview, I saw smiling faces, people who looked like they actually wanted to be here. It felt like I’d come home.”
