Queen Alexandra College (QAC): A Mobilisation Success Story
In April 2024, CleanTEC began providing cleaning services at Queen Alexandra College (QAC). The seamless transition and efficient mobilisation process were a prime example of our professional approach and commitment to providing high-quality services. This case study highlights the challenges faced during the mobilisation period and how our expertise ensured a smooth takeover.
QAC is a national specialist residential college and charity located in Birmingham. They cater to students aged 16-25 from across the country and support a wide range of abilities and needs. The college offers a variety of programmes that ensure that each student receives the educational and therapeutic support they need to achieve their aspirations.
The Mobilisation Process
Taking over the cleaning services at QAC presented some challenges, primarily due to the timing of the transition. CleanTEC took over in the middle of the academic year, a difficult period, so careful planning and swift actions were required to ensure minimal disruption to the college’s daily operations. The short mobilisation period demanded an efficient and effective strategy to address any immediate concerns and establish a solid foundation for ongoing service delivery.
Despite the challenges, the mobilisation process was impressively quick and smooth. The team adopted a plan which ensured that all aspects of the transition were handled with professionalism and care. According to feedback from QAC Associate Director, Paul, CleanTEC provided an “instantly practical, straightforward, and efficient service with a professional approach”. This efficiency was crucial in maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene standards expected by the college, especially during a busy academic period.
Another pivotal factor in the success of this mobilisation was the Area Manager, Helen’s organisation and coordination. Cari-Ann, CleanTEC Regional Manager, said:
“Helen the Area manager worked really hard to staff the site before starting the contract; this had a massive impact on the mobilisation. Due to not all staff transferring, Helen reorganised the existing staff into new roles to help with the new restructure, to have a smoother start at the beginning of the contract.”
Feedback and Impact
Positive feedback from QAC has indicated that the college appreciated the efficient and effective service that we provided during the critical mobilisation phase. The professional and practical approach taken by the CleanTEC team was highlighted as a key factor in the successful transition. “Any issues have been dealt with quickly, initially with a responsive and then proactive approach”, noted Paul, underlining CleanTEC’s commitment to exceeding client expectations.
A clean and hygienic environment is essential for the well-being and comfort of everyone at the college. By ensuring that all areas of the college are maintained to the highest standards, CleanTEC has contributed to creating a safe and welcoming atmosphere for students to learn and thrive. This support is particularly important for a specialist college like QAC, where the needs of the students are diverse and require tailored approaches.
