The Prime Minister, David Cameron has laid out a new initiative
that will hopefully encourage an increase in the number of people
visiting and doing business in the country.
The Great Campaign aims to focus on the best aspects the UK has
to offer and encourage future investments, which is also said could
have a knock-on effect in the commercial cleaning sector. The
project has been launched to tie in with the London Olympic Games,
hoping it will encourage tourists into the capital and
Britain.
Commenting on the new initiative, Mr Cameron mentioned the effects
the 2012 Olympic and
Paralympic Games will have on the country, making London the
place to be during summer.
"We are determined to make the most of this unprecedented
opportunity to ensure we deliver a lasting economic legacy that
will benefit the whole country," he added.
Speaking in New York, the prime minister added: "This campaign
is simple. There are so many great things about Britain and we want
to send out the message loud and proud that this is a great place
to do business, to invest, to study and to visit."
As London prepares for four million extra visitors during the
2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, commercial cleaners are said to be preparing
for an increase in demanding contracts.
It has also been reported that the London Development Authority has
published a shortlist of companies who are in the running for a
major housing development near the Olympic village.
However, it isn't just the Olympic Games that have many cleaning
companies rushing to claim a cleaning contract for the event, next
year is the
Queens Diamond Jubilee Weekend as well. The Queen's
Diamond Jubilee Weekend will take place from 2-5 June 2012, which
is sure to follow with a large cleaning contract for one lucky
company.
